XIX. yüzyılda Osmanlı idaresi altında Balkanlar ve Köstendil

Abstract

Köstendil, Osmanlı Devleti’nin Rumeli’ye gelmesiyle birlikte konum itibariyle önemli bir mevkide görülmüştür. XIX. yüzyıl boyunca da bu konumu Köstendil’i değerli kılmıştır. Gerek Osmanlı Devleti’nin Balkan topraklarındaki hâkimiyeti gerek Balkanlarda çıkan isyanlar ve gerekse de Rus müdahalesi sırasında konumunda dolayı Köstendil birçok gelişmenin merkezinde yer almıştır. Osmanlı Devleti de bu durumun farkında olduğu için bu şehirdeki gelişmeleri yakından takip etmeye çalışmıştır. Bu araştırma ile son derece önemli bir konumu olan Köstendil’in XIX. yüzyıl içindeki siyasi ve askeri olaylardan ne şekilde etkilendiği anlatılmaya çalışılacaktır. Araştırma, Osmanlı arşiv belgelerini esas alarak söz konusu hadiselerin gelişim süreçleri anlatmayı amaçlamaktadır.Köstendil became an important place when Ottoman Empire arrived to Rumelia due to its location. Its location made Köstendil significant throughout the nineteenth century. Köstendil was in the center of the several developments thanks to its position not only during the domination of Ottoman Empire in the Balkans but also during the revolts in the Balkans and during the Russian intervention to the Balkans. Ottoman Empire was aware of the situation; therefore, Ottomans tried to follow the developments closely. This study tries to find out to what extent Köstendil, which had extremely crucial location, affected from the political and martial events in the nineteenth century. The study aims to describe development processes of the aforementioned incidents based on the Ottoman archive documents.
