Gypsophila eriocalyx Boiss. ve G. sphaerocephala Fenzl ex tchihat var. sphaerocephala taksonlarının antioksidan ve antibakteriyel aktivitelerinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

Ülkemizde Caryophyllaceae familyasının Silene (131 tür) ve Dianthus’tan (69 tür) sonra 3. büyük cinsi Gypsophila’dır. Türkiye Florası’nda Gypsophila 10 seksiyon içerisinde 33’ü endemik 56 tür ile tanımlanmaktadır. Gypsophila türleri saponin içermesi bakımından iyi bilinen bitkilerdir ve Gypsophila sphaerocephala Fenzl ex Tchich. var. sphaerocephala ve endemik olan Gypsophila eriocalyx Boiss. Gypsophlia cinsine ait iki taksondur. Tıbbi bitkiler dünyanın birçok ülkesinde çeşitli kültürlerde halk hekimliğinde kullanım alanına sahiptir. Birçok araştırma da göstermiştir ki antioksidanlar, metabolizmamızda serbest radikallerin oluşumunu engelleyerek hücrelerin zarar görmesini önlerler. Gysophlia cinsine ait bitkiler içerdikleri fitokimyasal maddeler nedeniyle kimya sanayide olduğu kadar tıp alanında da kullanıma elverişli bitkilerdir. Bundan dolayı Gypsophlia cinslerinde çalışılmayı bekleyen G. sphaerocephala Fenzl ex Tchich. var. sphaerocephala ve G. eriocalyx Boiss. lokalitesi belirtilen yerlerden toplandı ve toprak altı kısımlarının kloroform ile ekstraksiyonları yapıldıktan sonra total antioksidan kapasiteleri Trolox eşdeğerliliğine göre ABTS [2,2?-Azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-sulfonic acid)] yöntemi ile ve total fenolik miktarı Folin-Ciocalteu kullanarak gallik asit eşdeğerliliğine göre belirlendi. Ayrıca bu bitkilerin içerdiği bileşiklerden dolayı, 10 farklı bakteri üzerinde antibakteriyel özelliklerine de bakılmıştır.Gypsophila is the 3th biggest genus in family of Caryophyllaceae to Turkey. Gypsophila is determinated with 10 section and it consists of 56 species, of which 33 are endemic to Turkey in Flora of Turkey. Gypsophila species are well known due to the fact that they contain saponin chemicals Gypsophila sphaerocephala Fenzl ex Tchich. var. sphaerocephala, and Gypsophila eriocalyx Boiss. which be endemic to Turkey are two taxa from Gypsophila genera. Plants such as herbs have been used in folk medicine for centuries in most of the cultures throughout the world. Many researches bring up that antioxidants prevent cell-damage neutralizing free radicals. Gypsophila species are suitable plants which they have been used by not only chemical industry also medicine. Therefore, G. sphaerocephala Fenzl ex Tchich. var. sphaerocephala and G. eriocalyx Boiss. are two taxa for studying. These plants were gathered from specified localities. Total antioxidant capacities of samples were determinated with ABTS [2,2?-Azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline- sulfonic acid)] method in terms of Trolox equivalent. Total fenolic contents were determined with Folin-Ciocalteu reagent in terms of gallic acid equivalent after extraction was obtained with chloroform from their underground parts. Also, the antibacterial activities of these taxa collected from Denizli and Çankırı were evaluated against 10 bacteria because of their phytochemical contents.
