Abstract: Bu çalışmanın amacı inmeli bireylerde kas kuvveti kaybının ve etkilenmemiş taraftaki ekstremitelerin kas kuvvetinin incelenmesidir.
The aim of this study is to investigate the muscle strength Loss and unaffected side’s extremity muscle strength in the stroke individuals. Thirty-three subjects (22 males, 11 females) with average age of 56.33 ± 8.92 and 33 (20 males, 13 females) healthy control groups with average age of 52.3 ± 8.52 were included in the study. Participants' muscle strengths were measured by a power track hand held dynamometer, and grip strengths were measured by a hand dynamometer. Measurements were applied to both the upper and lower extremities and trunk muscles in the healthy group, and to the upper and lower extremities in the unaffected side and trunk muscles in the stroke group. The total muscle strength of the individuals was calculated by summing the lower and upper extremities and trunk muscle strengths. In the analyze of unaffected side muscle strength, 27 participants who were dominant and not affected on the right side and 33 healthy participants dominant on the right side were compared. The total muscle strength of stroke subjects was 49909.5 N, the total muscle strength of healthy subjects was 182375 N, the difference between this groups was measured as 132465.5 N. The loss of total muscle strength in stroke patients was measured as 72.63%. A significant difference was found in favor of healthy subjects in the unaffected side extremity comparison (p = 0.0001). According to the results of this study, muscle strength in stroke patients is reduced on the unaffected side, and it is important to develop muscle strength both in the affected and unaffected side in stroke rehabilitation.
