Kentsel Dönüşüm

Abstract

Kentler, özellikle sanayi devrimi sonrasında insanların büyük çoğunluğunun yaşadığı alanlar haline gelmişlerdir. Fakat kent hayatı dendiğinde akla sadece binalardan oluşan bir yer gelmemelidir. Kentlerin içerisinde sosyal ve ekonomik ilişkiler sürmektedir. Kentlerde çok sayıda insanın yaşaması kentlerin iyi bir biçimde planlanmasını zorunlu hale getirmektedir. Bu noktada devreye kentsel dönüşüm ifadesi girmektedir. Kentsel dönüşüm, köhneleşmiş durumdaki kentin yada bir bölümünün sosyal, ekonomik, fiziki ve kültürel açıdan iyileştirilmesini amaçlamaktadır. Fakat sonuçlar bazen istenmedik yönde gelişebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, kentsel dönüşüm projelerinin ortaya çıkardığı sonuçların incelenmesidir. Çalışmanın amacına ulaşmak için çok sayıda kaynak incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda kentsel dönüşüm projelerinin şehirleşme, sosyal yaşam, birey, ekonomi ve kent kimliği üzerinde etkilerinin olduğu anlaşılmıştır.

Cities have been places in which great majority of people have been living especially since Industrial Revolution. On the other hand, it is important to underline that cities are not places solely made via building construction. There are various social and economic relationships within cities. As a result of the fact that great amount of people live in cities, it becomes compulsory to make well- designed plans for cities. At that point, the term “urban transformation” becomes significant for cities. Urban transformation aims triggering city or a part of city in terms of social, economic, physical and cultural dimensions. However, results of urban transformation project may become as an undesired manner. Aim of that study is evaluating/searching results/impacts of urban transformation projects. In order to react that aim, various sources are examined. At the end of the study, it is seen that urban transformation projects have impacts on urbanization, social life, person, economy and urban identity.
