Popüler kültürün gençlerin apolitikleşmesi üzerindeki etkisi: Pamukkale Üniversitesi öğrencileri üzerinde bir uygulama

Abstract

Gençler, toplumda boş zamanları değerlendirme ve tüketim alışkanlıkları açısından popüler kültürden en fazla etkilenen kitle olarak kabul edilmektedir. Ülkenin siyasal, kültürel ve toplumsal yapılarına yön verecek kesim olarak görülmesinden dolayı üniversite gençliği büyük bir öneme sahiptir. ?Popüler Kültürün Gençlerin Apolitikleşmesi Üzerindeki Etkisi: Pamukkale Üniversitesi Öğrencileri Üzerinde Bir Uygulama? adlı bu çalışma popüler kültürün gençlerin siyasal eğilimleri, katılımları ve siyasal kültürleri üzerindeki etkisini araştırmak amacını taşımaktadır. Günümüzde yaşanan teknik gelişmelerin ve hızlı toplumsal değişimlerin gençlerin siyasal, sosyo-kültürel ve ekonomik değerlerini ne yönde etkilediğinin öğrenilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çalışmada popüler kültürün gençler üzerindeki yoğun etkisinin, onların siyasal ilgi düzeylerini düşürdüğü varsayılmıştır. Araştırmamızın verileri, örneklem grubuna uygulanan anket tekniklerine dayanmaktadır. Anketler, Pamukkale Üniversitesi kampüsünde bulunan fakültelerden basit tesadüfi örnekleme tekniği ile seçilen 350 öğrenci üzerinde uygulanmıştır.

In the society, the youth is considered as the section which is most effected by popular culture in terms of consumption habits and leisure time activities. University youth has great importance because they are seen as the section of the society which will give shape to political, cultural and social structures of the country. This study, titled as ?The Effect of Popular Culture in Depolitization of the Youth: An Application on the Students of Pamukkale University?, aims to investigate the effects of popular culture on political tendencies, participation and politic culture of the youth. The target is to determine in what way the technological development and rapid social transformations in present times influence political, socio-cultural and economic values of the youth. In the study, it is assumed that the massive effect of popular culture decreases the political interest levels of the youth. Spreading over on all aspects of life through mass media, popular culture directs the youth towards consumption, determines leisure activities, prevents questioning the life in compliance with the dominant ideology and thereby causes their isolation from political and social life. The data of the research depend on questionnaire techniques applied on the sample group. Questionnaires were applied on 350 students selected from five faculties of Pamukkale University using the technique of simple random sampling.
