Bir işletmenin çevre etkisinin ekolojik ayak izi uygulaması ile değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Çevre etkisi araştırmalarında, son dönemlerde, ekolojik ayak izi yöntemi, sahip olduğu geniş perspektif, ölçülebilirliği ve izlenebilirliği özellikleri ile ön plana çıkmaktadır. Bu tezde, ekonomik potansiyeli ve yarattığı istihdam yönünden olduğu kadar çevresel etkileri bakımından önemli sektörlerden birisi olan tekstil sektöründe faaliyet gösteren yarı entegre bir firmanın çevresel etkisi, ekolojik ayak izi hesaplanarak ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Firmanın çevre etkisinin azaltılması, diğer bir ifade ile ekolojik ayak izinin küçültülmesi için hayata geçirebileceği projeler, hem literatüre dayalı olarak, hem de firma bünyesinde oluşturulan odak grup çalışmaları ile belirlenmiştir. Belirlenen projelerin değerlendirilmesinde çok kriterli karar verme tekniklerinden AHP ve TOPSIS kullanılmıştır. Tekstil sektöründe ilk kez ekolojik ayak izi uygulamasını gerçekleştirmesi, ekolojik ayak izi hesaplanmasına yönelik yeni katsayılar kazandırması ve disiplinlerarası bir çalışmaya dayalı olarak çevresel etkilerin azaltılmasına yönelik projeleri değerlendimesi yönleri ile önerilen tez hem teoriye hem de uygulamaya önemli katkılar sağlamaktadır.

In environmental impact studies, ecological footprint method has recently come to the fore with its wide perspective, measurability and traceability features. In this thesis, the environmental impact of a semi-integrated company operating in the textile sector, which is one of the important sectors in terms of its economic potential and employment, as well as its environmental impacts, is determined by calculating the ecological footprint. The projects that the company can implement to reduce the environmental impact, in other words to reduce the ecological footprint, have been determined both on the basis of literature and focus group studies established within the company. AHP and TOPSIS, which are multicriteria decision making techniques, were used in the evaluation of the identified projects. The thesis proposed for the first time in the textile sector, introducing new coefficients for the calculation of ecological footprint, and evaluating projects aimed at reducing environmental impacts based on an interdisciplinary study provides important contributions to both theory and practice.
