Title: | Turkish number names one “1” and Two “2” in regard to global ethmologies and the word finger: Making one to two, making two to one and add in one place | Authors: | Nalbant, Mehmet Vefa | Keywords: | Finger Global etymology One Turkish number names Two |
Publisher: | Hacettepe University 1 | Abstract: | Some of the basic words used in language comparisons are number names. The first two of these number names are global words and they are used for global etymologies. Unfortunately, a sufficient etymological explanation or an original study on Turkish number names has not been recorded. The aim of this study is to highlight the origin of the Turkish bir/1 and iki/2 number names, while on the other hand to establish to link them to the global etymologies through the word, finger. © 2019 Hacettepe University 1.
