dc.description.abstract | The present study was designed to examine the total phenolic, flavonoid, tannin contents, the antioxidant, ALT/ALP enzyme and cytotoxic activities of the several extracts (ethanol, methanol, acetone and water) of L. martagon which is investigated for the flora of Turkey and Kazakhstan. The antioxidant activities of these extracts were analyzed by means of cleaning methods (DPPH and ABTS scavenging activity), P-carotene/linoleic acid test system, phosphonolibden method and metal chelating activity. Among the four different L. martagon extracts, the acetone extract showed the highest amount of radical scavenging both underground and aerial part in Turkey (DPPH, 245.82±1.59mg/mL and ABTS, 147.42±1.93mg/mL with IC50 values) and methanol extract antioxidant activities (P-carotene, 99.28%). In metal chelating activity, ethanol extract was different from other extracts. According to phosphonolybdenum method, the antioxidant capacity of the extracts ranged from 27.54 to 99.49mg/mL. The phenolic content of the ethanol, methanol and acetone extracts were analyzed using HPLC and some major phenolics were determined as: caffeic acid, cinnamic acid, epicatechin and ellagic. As a result of the study, ethanol (bulb 35.457 LC5 0 ) extract of the L. martagon exhibited highest cytotoxic activity whilst acetone (aerial part 213.596 LC5 0 ) exhibited lowest cytotoxic activity. ©by PSP. | en_US |
