Publisher: | Gazi Universitesi | Abstract: | Wind energy is the leading renewable energy source. It is one of the multi-criteria decision-making problems to choose the most suitable wind energy location among a large number of places with various geographic structure and wind resources based on multiple criteria. In decision-making problems, the results of the decision-makers are sensitive because of their uncertainty. In this study, the problem of wind farm location selection is discussed by using SWARA, I-GRA and Grey EDAS methods in order to eliminate the uncertainty in energy decision problems by using interval grey numbers. The SWARA method was used to compute the weight of the criteria which were determined by the reviews of experts and the literature. The criteria were evaluated by four decision makers. I-GRA and Grey EDAS methods based on interval grey numbers were used to rank the alternatives using the criteria weights and the location ranking was determined. Interval grey numbers were used to represent the decision makers' decisions in linguistic terms. As a result of the applications, "Çesme" was chosen as the most suitable location for a wind farm. The results of the study were reported to the decision makers and the study was approved by them. It is concluded that both methods integrated with interval grey numbers, which were used for the first time in wind farm location selection problems, are easy and applicable. © 2020 Gazi Universitesi Muhendislik-Mimarlik.
