Abstract: In this study the radiation dose ahsorhed from the surrounding area was determined fora polymineral ceramic sample that was found by an archeological excavation. Determination of equivalent dose is one of the critical points for luminescence dating researches. The sample used was prepared according to the polymeric content and fine grain technique without decomposing into minerals such as feldspar, quartz. The pre -heating temperature for the sample was determined as a result of experimental procedures. The prepared sample was preheated at 200 C, for 12 minutes. A different method Was used for the first time in our study, which is different from the methods commonly used for determining the equivalent dose in geological or archaeological samples. The details and observed advantages of this method are mentioned in our study. The equivalent dose values ohtained range from 5.17 0.09 to 7.06 0.29 Gy.
