Evliya Çelebi’ye göre Mısır Beylerbeyileri’nin Mısır’a geliş ve gidişleri

Abstract

Tarih boyunca Mısır, pek çok devletin elde etmek istediği bir yer olmuştur. Yavuz Sultan Selim ile beraber Osmanlı Devleti Mısır’a hâkim olmuştur. Bu sayede Memlük Sultanlığı’nın İslam dünyasındaki saygınlığı Osmanlı Devleti’ne geçmiştir. Osmanlı Devleti, merkezden uzak ve devlet açısından pek çok önemi bulunan Mısır Eyaleti’nde salyane sistemini uygulamıştır. Mısır gibi önemli bir eyaletin beylerbeyinin birçok görevi bulunmaktaydı. Memlük Sultanlığı’ndan kalma gelenekler ve Mısır Beylerbeyiliği’nin önemi sebebiyle Mısır Beylerbeyi, Mısır’a girerken ve Mısır’dan ayrılırken bir sultan gibi itibar görmüştür. Evliya Çelebi bu durumu teferruatlı bir şekilde anlatmıştır.

Throughout history, Egypt has been a place that many countries wanted to conquer. Ottoman Empire ruled over Egypt under the reign of Yavuz Sultan Selim. Thus, the reputability of Mamluk Sultanate in Islamic world passed to Ottoman Empire. Because of importance in terms of state and being away from center, the salyane system was implemented in Egypt by Ottoman Empire. State governors of an important state like Egypt has a lot of duties. Because of significance of Egypt’s governor was respected like Sultan while entering and leaving Egypt. Evliya Çelebi explained this situation in a detailed way.
