Abstract: In this study, the maximum displacement demands of cm le degree of freedom (SDOF) systems obtained viu nonlinear time history analyses are statistically evaluated using Turkish Earthquake Code compatible acceleration sets and different hysteresis models, For that purpose, 144 single degree of freedom systems with different natural vibration period, lateral strength ratio and hysteresis models are considered, Two different acceleration sets compatible with each of the Z1, Z2 and Z3 soil classes are used for nonlinear analyses. Maximum displacement demands obtained from acceleration records in record sets have been observed to a remarkable dispersion for all the SDOF systems. Different displacement demands are obtained for different hysteresis-behavior models. Variance analysis results show that the mean of the displacement demands obtained for the different hysteresis behavior models are accepted as Simply random Sump/es selected from the same population at 0.95 confidence level, It is shown that these results are valid for all the considered SDOF systems considered in this study.
