Abstract: In this study, a solution model that can design precast industrial buildings, mostly constructed one-storey in Turkey, is developed using heuristic harmony search (HS) algorithm. In the study, 6 m high and 3 spans typical precast building is designed for different soil types by considering the Turkish Earthquake Code and standards. In order to examine sensitivity of developed solution model, numerous analyses performed with five different parameter groups. Results indicate that code compliant optimum precast building design can be made with HS algorithm providing all given constraints.
