Abstract: Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is the least prevalent, but the most serious complication of ovulation induction. OHSS is a syndrome in which induction of ovulation results in a wide spectrum of clinical and laboratory symptoms and signs. Although this syndrome is well recognized by obstetricians, as reflected in the gynecologic literature, there is limited information, disseminated among chest physicians. Due to the increased use of therapeutic strategies for infertility, the pulmonary complications of this syndrome should be suspected on clinical grounds and identified early to allow for more appropriate diagnosis and management. We aimed to disscuss OHSS as a rare etiology for pleural effusions by presenting our case.
