Publisher: | PAMUKKALE UNIV | Abstract: | Reservoirs are designed for decreasing the instability between the flow brought by the river which is variable in time and volume of the water required for the usage purposes of the flow (energy production, irrigation, river transportation. etc.). The storage required on a river to meet a specific demand depends primarily on three factors: the magnitude and the variability of the river flows, the size of the demand, and the degree of reliability of this demand being met. A large number of procedures have been proposed to estimate storage requirements. In the presented study, reservoir capacity-yield-reliability relationships are investigated for a single imaginary reservoir. For this purpose, monthly and annual mean flow data, observed for a period of 63 years between 19382000, of EIE-Kayirli (701) flow gauging station on Cine Stream in Buyuk Menderes Basin are used. The required reservoir capacity is tried to be estimated by using minimum flow, Alexander, Dincer, Gould's Gama, McMahon, Gould's synthetic data, behavior analysis and probability matrix methods and the obtained results are evaluated. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/11499/39561 | ISSN: | 1300-7009 |
