Çocuklar için felsefe programının uygulanmasının önemi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada Çocuklar İçin Felsefe Eğitimi Programının önemi ve uygulanmasının anlaşılması incelenmiştir. Çocuklar İçin Felsefe Eğitimi Programı (Philosophy for Children (P4C)) Matthew Lipman tarafından ortaya konmuş ve geliştirilmiş bir programdır. Çocuklar İçin Felsefe Eğitiminin temel yapı taşları eğitim, felsefe ve çocuktur. Bu bakımdan bu araştırmada öncelikle eğitim, felsefe ve çocuğun tarihteki yeri, önemi ve uygulanması üzerinde durulmuş, çağdan çağa nasıl bir evrim geçirdikleri incelenmiştir. Araştırmada Matthew Lipman’ın eğitim fikirleri açısından etkilendiği ve Çocuklar İçin Felsefe Eğitimi Programının içeriğini oluşturan John Dewey’in Demokratik Eğitim Modeli incelenmiştir. Yaşadığı dünya ile deneyim vasıtasıyla,bir devlet ve ulus içinde yaşamasından dolayı toplum ile ve diğer tüm hayvanlardan akıl özelliği ile ayrılan insan felsefe ve psikoloji ile etkileşim halindedir. Bu etkileşim John Dewey’in Demokratik Eğitim Modelinde deneyim, psikoloji, felsefe bir bütün olarak ele alınıp incelenmiştir. Çocuklar İçin Felsefe Eğitimi Programı ile çocuklardaki merak duygusu eşliğinde felsefi bir etkinlik ile üst düzey düşünme becerilerini geliştirme, yaratıcı düşünebilme, ayrıntılı analiz edebilme, fikirleri gerekçeleri ile savunabilme ve farklı düşüncelere saygılı olma amaçlanmıştır. Bu bakımdan bu amaçları gerçekleştirmek için uygulanan etkinlikler incelenmiştir.

The importance of the philosophy education program for children and its implementation was investigated within the framework of this study. Philosophy for Children (P4C) is a program introduced and developed by Matthew Lipman. The building blocks of Philosophy Education for Children are education, philosophy and children. In this respect, the current study analyzed the place and importance of education, philosophy, the child in history, and various related implementations, as well as how they have evolved through the ages.The current study delved into John Dewey's Democratic Education Model, which influenced Matthew Lipman’s educational ideas and constituted the content of the Philosophy Education Program for Children. Human beings, who are distinguished from all other animals by intelligence, interact with philosophy and psychology as well as with society due to living within a state and a nation by means of experience with the world he lives in. This interaction between experience, psychology, and philosophy was discussed as a whole in John Dewey's Democratic Education Model. Philosophy Education Program for Children aims to develop upper-level thinking skills, think creatively, analyze in detail, defend ideas with justifications,and respect different opinions with philosophical activities accompanied by a sense of curiosity in children. In this regard, the activities implemented to achieve these goals were explored.
