Abstract:	In this article, the origin of the symbols of crescent and "moon with star" in Turkic and Islamic Cultures is investigated. What is the origin of the symbol of Crescent in Islamic and Turkic Civilisations, how it became the symbol of Islam and Turks ? Use of the symbol of crescent in Islamic and Turkic Cultures and it's symbolic and ideological meanings. How and why the symbol of crescent is used on the flags, coins, badges and coat of arms in Islamic and Turkic states.
