Abstract: Background: Intracerebral hemorrhagic brain injury after open heart surgery is a rare complication. We report a case of acute intraventricular hemorrhage after coronary bypass surgery. Methods: The brain computed tomography revealed intraventricular bleeding in the patient and urgent external ventricular drainage was performed by neurosurgeons. Results: The clinical findings disappeared after the drainage. Conclusion: Early diagnosis and treatment is important in preventing organic brain damage in this complication. © 2007 by Blackwell Futura Publishing, Inc.
