Abstract: Delay of vehicles at signalized junctions is one of the main criteria used for evaluation of performances of control systems. The vehicular delay is defined with two parts as uniform and non-uniform. The uniform part of the vehicular delays is determined basically using conventional delay formulas. But the non-uniform part is not easily determined and can not represent the nature of the problem because of randomness in cases. Therefore, the Fuzzy Logic (FL) approach is employed for this aim and a vehicular delay estimation model has been developed. The model is compared with conventional delay calculation methods and the observations. The comparisons show that the results of the FL model are encouraging especially for the case of randomness or non-uniform conditions.
