Turizm ekonomisi alanındaki lisansüstü tezlerin bibliyometrik analizi (1988-2021)

Abstract

Turizm, sahip olduğu büyük potansiyel nedeni ile gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan birçok ülke açısından önemli bir ekonomik faaliyet olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Bu potansiyelin tam anlamı ile açığa çıkarılabilmesi için ekonomik araştırmalarda turizm sektörünün göz ardı edilmemesi büyük önem taşır. Bu kapsamda bu çalışmanın amacı 1988-2021 yılları arasında “turizm ekonomisi” alanında yazılmış yüksek lisans ve doktora tezlerinin bibliyometrik analizini gerçekleştirerek literatürde var olan eksikliği gidermektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda YÖKTEZ veri tabanından elde edilen 37 adet yüksek lisans ve 7 adet doktora olmak üzere toplamda 44 adet lisansüstü tez bibliyometrik analize tabi tutulmuştur. Bu tezler, “tez türü”, “tezlerin yayınlandığı yıl”, “tez konusu”, “tezlerin hazırlandığı üniversite”, “tezlerin bağlı olduğu enstitü” ve “tezlerin hazırlandığı anabilim dalı” kriterlerine göre incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonucunda, turizm ekonomisi alanındaki lisansüstü çalışmaların çoğunlukla yüksek lisans düzeyinde gerçekleştirildiği buna karşılık ilgili alanda doktora düzeyindeki çalışmaların oldukça az olduğu saptanmıştır. Yüksek lisans tezleri en çok 2019 yılında yazılmış iken, 7 adet doktora tezinin her biri farklı yıllarda yazılmıştır. Turizm ekonomisi alanında yüksek lisans düzeyindeki çalışmaların çoğunlukla Balıkesir Üniversitesi'nde, doktora düzeyindeki çalışmaların ise çoğunlukla Muğla Üniversitesi’nde hazırlandığı tespit edilmiştir. Aynı zamanda turizm ekonomisi alanında hazırlanan yüksek lisans ve doktora düzeyindeki çalışmaların çok büyük kısmının sosyal bilimler enstitüsü ve iktisat anabilim dalı bünyesinde hazırlandığı belirlenmiştir.

Due to its great potential, tourism emerges as an important economic activity for many developed and developing countries. In order to fully reveal this potential, it is of great importance that the tourism sector should not be ignored in economic research. In this context, the aim of this study is to fill the gap in the literature by performing bibliometric analysis of master's and doctoral theses written in the field of "tourism economics" between 1988-2021. For this purpose, a total of 44 postgraduate theses, 37 postgraduate and 7 doctorate, obtained from the YÖKTEZ database were subjected to bibliometric analysis. These theses were examined according to the criteria of "type of thesis", "the year the theses were published", "thesis topic", "the university where the theses were prepared", "the institute to which the theses are affiliated" and "the department in which the theses were prepared". As a result of the study, it has been determined that postgraduate studies in the field of tourism economics are mostly carried out at the master's level, however, there are very few doctoral studies in the related field. While the master's theses were mostly written in 2019, each of the 7 doctoral theses was written in different years. It has been determined that the studies at the master's level in the field of tourism economics are mostly prepared in Balıkesir University, and the studies at the doctoral level are mostly prepared in Muğla University. At the same time, it has been determined that most of the master's and doctoral studies prepared in the field of tourism economy are prepared within the social sciences institute and the department of economics.
