Abstract: Personnel scheduling is quite important in ensuring customer expectations and planning workforce requirements properly. The daily shifts should be planned in a regular and systematic manner so that shift workers would be able to perform their services as required. In this study, the problem of determining the weekly shift order of 42 students working part-time at a university central library was discussed. Goal programming and Analytic Hierarchy Process methods were used for assigning the students to the appropriate days and shifts by considering their weekly course schedules. The GAMS 23.5 program was used to develop a weighted goal programming model to solve the issue. A schedule providing the desired objectives and constraints was obtained.
