Abstract: Single switch power converters are used in many power electronics applications because of their simplicity, cheapness and high efficiency. In this study an induction heater for home cooking applications is carried out with voltage fed single switch series resonant inverter (SRI). Power control of heater is provided with deleting some on pulses of semiconductor switch instead of turn on time control. In this way power control is achieved in a more extensive range. Experimental results of the heating system for different pulse sequences at 62.5kHz switching frequency are compared with computer simulation results.
