Abstract: Within scope of this study graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized by improved Hummers method and then it was modified with cobalt, iron, and manganese salts (TM-GO). The obtained TM-GO adsorbents were characterized by UV-Vis spectrophotometry, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron diffraction spectroscopy (EDS), Vibrating-Sample Magnetometry (VSM), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). Batch adsorption tests were applied to remove bromophenol blue dye from water. After adsorption experiments, it was found that the adsorbent was effective for anionic contaminants with the maximum adsorption capacity was 94.33 mg/g. The adsorption process fitted to Langmuir isotherm and followed pseudo second order kinetic model.
