(E) Temporarily exposed microbial bioherms at Bridger Bay shoreline, Antelope Island, Great Salt Lake (Utah, USA); sedimentologists for scale. (F) Upper Jurassic rhizolite laminar calcrete (base at hammer edge) from Rochaforte (Portugal; courtesy of V.P. Wright; Wright & Azeredo, 2006).
