The World Health Organization has been emphasizing the importance of active, healthy, and productive aging due to emerging demographic changes. This study was carried out to measure the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Education Participation Scale-A (EPS-A). This methodological study was performed between June 2020 and August 2020 in Turkey. The sample size was determined as 384 individuals by taking the power limit of 0.80. The Snowball sampling method was used in the research. SPSS 26.0 and AMOS-26 programs were used in the validity and reliability analysis of the data. A level of significance of p ?.05 was used for all data analyses. The mean age of the participants in the study was 66.96 ± 5.809. About 40.1% of participants were college/university graduates. According to exploratory factor analysis, the scale showed a four-factor structure. The total variance explained was calculated as 67.493%. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the model was statistically significant and valid (?2/df = 4.53). The Cronbach’s alpha value of the subdimensions of the scale ranged between 0.90 and 0.94, and 0.96 for the general scale. The Education Participation Scale-A(EPS-A) is a valid 30-item scale with 4 subdimensions for Turkish society and can be used reliably to determine the motivation to participate in learning among individuals aged 60 or over. © 2022 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.en_US
