Abstract: This paper introduces fuzzy logic models for optimizing open-circuit or short-circuit terminated wide-band microstrip filters with ?/4 stubs. By using the physical dimensions as parameters in the filter geometry, both the filter optimization was performed and on the contrary, the filter frequency response was improved depending on the geometric parameters. For this purpose, various theoretical fuzzy models were developed and the results obtained from the simulations of the final structures were compared with the optimization results, and the validity of the applied inferential fuzzy logic models was demonstrated. Simulations were carried out with SONNET. NeuroSolutions and CADMFILT programs were used to run the generated fuzzy models. The accuracy of the fuzzy models created by comparing the modeling results obtained from the two programs and their validity for filter optimization were demonstrated. © 2021 Chamber of Turkish Electrical Engineers.
