Abstract: The financial effects and hedging properties of bitcoin in Turkey are analyzed with dynamic models. Although prices of bitcoin broke records in the last years. it can't hedge against inflation. So, it has been identified as a weak safe haven against BIST100, dollar, and euro. Having volatile and vulnerable bitcoin reduces the risk of the portfolios. © Peter Lang GmbH Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften Berlin 2019. All rights reserved.
