Title: | Recurrent painless lump on lower lip in a girl; mucocele | Authors: | Yüksel, Selçuk Yılmaz, Neslihan Özcan, Ramazan Hakan |
Abstract: | Mucocele is typically defined as the accumulation of salivary secretion in the mucosa or subcutaneous softtissue spaces by leaking from the salivary glands or secretory ducts and forming a cystic structure surroundedby granulation tissue. The majority of mucoceles originate from minor salivary glands. The most importantreason is lip or cheek biting habit, which can lead to trauma, and saliva leakage from the damaged canal intothe adjacent connective tissue. In this case report, a 10-year-old girl patient with mucocele is presented, anddiscussed its' etiology. | URI: | https://doi.org/10.31362/patd.784292 https://search.trdizin.gov.tr/yayin/detay/422895 https://hdl.handle.net/11499/48373 |
