Abstract: Body length increments of Gammarus pulex were measured at a range of temperatures and initial body lengths both in the laboratory and in the field. The laboratory experiments gave good estimates of growth rates which were expressed in the growth model as DGR (daily growth rate) = 0.0126 + 0.00302 L +0.000274 T (Duran model). The growth rates estimated for G. pulex in the River Yeşilirmak were very similar to the predictions of the model.
