Müzik eğitimi alan üniversite öğrencilerinde core kuvveti ile üst ekstremite fonksiyonu ve yaşam kalitesi arasindaki ilişki

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı müzik eğitimi alan üniversite öğrencilerinde core kuvveti ile üst ekstremite fonksiyonları ve yaşam kalitesi arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Çalışmaya Pamukkale Üniversite Müzik ve Sahne Sanatları Fakültesi Müzik Bölümü ve Eğitim Fakültesi Güzel Sanatlar Eğitimi Bölümü Müzik Öğretmenliği Programı’nda eğitim alan öğrenciler (yaş ortalaması22,33±3,49yıl)katıldı. Katılımcıların demografik bilgileri kaydedildi. Core kuvveti gövde fleksör, ekstansör ve lateral fleksör kaslarının endurans ölçümleri, yüzüstü enduransı ve stabilite testi (plank testi) ile değerlendirildi. Üst ekstremite dinamik dengesi Y denge testi, üst ekstremitre performansıNelson el reaksiyon testi, disklere dokunma testi ve kapalı kinetik zincir testi ile değerlendirildi. Postür, Newyork Postür Analizi ile değerlendirildi. Yaşam kalitesini değerlendimek için Whoqol-Bref Türkçe versiyonu kullanıldı. Çalışma bulguları; gövde fleksör enduransı ile üst ekstremite koordinasyonu ve Y denge testi arasında; gövde ekstansör enduransı ile VKİ arasında; gövde yüzüstü enduransı ile VKİ, Y denge testi veüst ekstremite koordinasyonu arasında; gövde lateral fleksiyonu ile Y denge testi, el reaksiyon zamanı ve kapalı kinetik zincir testi arasında; core kuvvet ve stabilite testi (plank) ile üst ekstremite koordinasyonu, kapalı kinetik zincir testi ve Y denge testi arasında anlamlı ilişki bulundu (p<0,05). Yaşam kalitesi ile yüzüstü endurans, gövde lateral fleksiyon enduransı, gövde ekstansör endurans, core kuvvet ve stabilite testi arasında anlamlı ilişki bulundu (p<0,05). Çalışma sonucunda core kuvveti ile üst ekstremite fonksiyonları ve yaşam kalitesi arasında ilişki olduğu saptandı.

The aim of this study is to examine the association of core strength with upper extremity function and quality of life among university students receiving music education. The study enrolled students (mean age is 22.33±3.49 years) receiving education at Pamukkale University’s Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Department of Music and Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, The Music Teaching Program. Participants’ demographic characteristics were recorded. Core strength was assessed via endurance measurements of trunk flexor, extensor and lateral flexor muscles, prone endurance and stability test (plank test). Upper extremity dynamic balance was assessed using the Y balance test, and upper extremity performance was assessed using the Nelson hand reaction test, disc touch test and closed kinetic chain test. Posture was assessed via New York Posture Analysis. The Turkish version of Whoqol-Bref was used to assess the quality of life. The study’s findings showed significant association of trunk flexor endurance with upper extremity coordination and Y balance test; significant association between trunk extensor endurance and BMI; significant association of trunk prone endurance with BMI, Y balance test and upper extremity coordination; significant association of trunk lateral flexion with Y balance test, hand reaction time and closed kinetic chain test; significant association of core strength and stability test (plank) with upper extremity coordination, closed kinetic chain test and Y balance test (p<0.05). A significant association of quality of life with prone endurance, trunk lateral flexion endurance, trunk extensor endurance, core strength and stability test was found (p<0.05). As a result of the study, an association of core strength with upper extremity functions and quality of life was identified.
