Abstract: Smart city researches and corresponding solutions increased progressively over the last two decades. Particularly smart mobility, which is an important part of the smart city philosophy, solution to multifaceted transportation problem gained relatively importance due to the traffic congestion. MetroCar System (MCS) is one of the new dual-mode transit (DMT) system, i.e., part of smart mobility, was developed to prevent the congestion problem. In this study, we compared MCS with other DMT systems such as Autoshuttle, TriTrack System, Loop Project, GTS Foundation, BiModal Glideway, CarTube and Rapid Urban Flexible (RUF) to validate advantages of MCS. Furthermore, the infrastructure of MCS was introduced with details and a corresponding sample project prepared for Denizli city was illustrated additionally. Finally, we preŞented a novel solution which was not supported with mentioned DMT's for vehicle lane changing problem by using a microscopic traffic model. The simulation results of this comparison show that MCS is safer and more applicable, although it is costlier.
