Abstract: The aim of this study was to evaluate self-compassion and nomophobia in adolescents aged 14–18 years and to investigate the relationship between self-compassion and nomophobia and comorbid mental health disorders. A questionnaire formed from the self-compassion scale, Nomophobia Scale, and a sociodemo-graphic form was delivered online to adolescents who presented at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Diseases Polyclinic of Pamukkale University between January and June 2020. A total of 234 adolescents completed the questionnaires. The level of nomophobia was found to be statistically significantly higher in females than in males (p = .024). The level of self-compassion was found to be statistically significantly lower in females than in males (p < .001). A negative weak correlation was determined between the total self-compassion scores and the total nomophobia scores (r: −.308, p < .001). As self-compassion decreased, the tendency to nomophobia increased. No statistically significant difference was found between total Nomophobia Scale and total self-compassion scores between those with and without comorbid mental dis-orders. The relationship between self-compassion and nomophobia is a subject not yet seen in the literature, but self-compassion could be considered a significant variable indicating mental health. © Author(s) – Available online at https:// www.addicta.com.tr/EN Content of this journal is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
