Cicero’nun Marcus Antonius stratejisi: Philippicae söylevleri

Abstract

Bir politikacı ve hatip olarak Cicero, Roma’da iç çatışmalar döneminin tanığı olduğunu belgeleyen Philippicae Söylevleri’ni vermiştir. Bu Philippicae Söylevleri’nin belirgin özelliği Romalı bir komutan olan Marcus Antonius’u eleştirmesidir. Bu yazının amacı, Cicero’nun Marcus Antonius’u Roma düşmanı olarak göstermeye çalışan stratejisini ortaya koymaktır. Bu doğrultuda, Cicero’nun Marcus Antonius’a yönelttiği Roma düşmanlığı temasını en yoğun olarak içeren dördüncü ve beşinci söylevler ele alınmıştır. Cicero’nun bu iki söylevinden elde edilen dört bağlama eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi uygulanmıştır.

As a politician and orator, Cicero gave Philippicae Speeches which demonstrate him as a witness of inner fighting period in Rome. In this sense, one of the characteristic of this Philippicae Speeches was about critics of Marcus Antonius who was a Roman commander. Aim of this article reveals Cicero’s strategy that try to show Marcus Antonius as an enemy of Roma. In this way, forth and fifth speeches that include numerous theme of Roman enemy accusation directing from Cicero to Marcus Antonius have disccused. Critical discourse analysis will be applied to four context attained from Cicero’s this two speeches.
