Abstract: Phytoremediation is a new low-tech and low-cost biotechnological application of specific green plants to treat or remove environmental contaminants from water, soil and air. In this study the phytoremediation rates of Zn ++ ions by Nasturtium officinale (watercress) were observed. Nasturtium officinale was able only to accumulate lower, but not higher concentrations of Zn ++ ions.
