Abstract: Interaction between humans and the natural environment has been one of the essential and prominent topic of geography science. This study deals with this interaction. The purpose of the study is to investigate the causes and consequences of the ongoing interaction between the human and natural environment on the Black Sea coast of the Kocaeli Plateau. For this purpose, geological and topographic maps covering the study area and the data obtained from the field study were used as the basic material. In addition, literature review has been conducted in order to reach the records of the past in the field. In addition, 1 / 100.000 geological maps belonging to the region and 1 / 25.000 topographical maps were used to create maps belonging to the region. As a result of observations made on the Black Sea coast of Kocaeli Plateau, it has been understood that the natural environment and human relations continue today as it was happened in the past.
