As a result of environmental problems and global warming, biocomposites attract the attention of production in the industry. Natural fibers are abundant and have adequate mechanical properties. The energy consumed by synthetic fibers during production and the wastes they create, together with the toxic substances, have played an important role in the R&D of biocomposites. Biocomposites are degradable, renewable, and nontoxic materials. They are used in many areas where synthetic composites are used. Composite materials used in the composite market generally cannot be recycled after they are produced. Therefore, they bring a waste load to the environment. Biocomposite materials can replace other composites due to their biodegradable characteristics and good performance properties. In this chapter, biodegradable composite materials produced from animal and mineral fibers are described. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.en_US
