Publisher: | Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc. | Abstract: | This article presents an LCC-LCC wireless power transfer (WPT) system based on dual side variable inductor (VI) control to achieve high efficiency and output power regulation. By adjusting the inductances of the VIs, the output voltage and current can be controlled while the wide range of zero voltage switching (ZVS) can be achieved for the primary side inverter under different misalignment conditions. The VIs in the primary and secondary sides provides ZVS condition and output regulation against misalignment, respectively. Since the resonant inductors of LCC-LCC topology are designed as VIs, the use of additional compensation elements is also eliminated. Moreover, the wireless communication is not necessary between primary and secondary side. A 300 W prototype is developed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control method. Experimental results demonstrate that good regulation performance and high transmission efficiency are provided for the WPT system under the wide range of misalignment.
