The central venous catheter insertion is used for various indications in hospitalized patients. The most commonly used method for the insertion of the central venous catheter is the percutaneous access technique known as the Seldinger method. Although rarely seen, the advancement of the central venous catheter into a nontargeted vessel during insertion is a serious complication. The personnel performing the procedure should be experienced and the right technique should be used in order to decrease the complications in central venous catheterization.en_US
