Toplumeleştirel bir inceleme: Leila Slimani’nin başkalarının ülkesi üçlemesinde kimlik sorunsalı

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Leïla Slimani’nin Başkalarının Ülkesi üçlemesini toplumeleştirel bir yaklaşımla ve yorumsamacı bir bakış açısıyla incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Üçleme, sırasıyla Başkalarının Ülkesi, 2020 (Fr. Les Pays des Autres), Başkalarının Ülkesi: Dans Edişimize Baksana, 2022 (Les Pays des Autres: Regarder Nous Danser) ve henüz Türkçe çevirisi yapılmamış olan J’emporterai le feu,2025, adlı yapıtlardan oluşmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında üçleme, toplumeleştirel bir yaklaşımla incelenmektir. Toplumeleştiri yaklaşımının sunduğu kavramsal araçlar (toplumbetim, toplumsal ilişki ölçeği, söylemlerarasılık vd.) kullanılarak, üçlemede işlenen kimlik sorunsalının çok katmanlı yapısı açığa çıkarılmaktadır. Metinlerin hem üretim süreçlerindeki toplumsal söylem izleri hem de alımlanma aşamasındaki düşüngü ve ekinsel boyutları incelenmektedir. Çalışma, toplumeleştirinin tarihsel gelişimini, kuramsal temellerini ve temel kavramlarını inceleyen bir kuramsal bölüm ile yapıtların çözümlemesini içeren bir çözümleme bölümünden oluşmaktadır. Çözümleme bölümünde, yapıtlar bağlamsal, toplumsal-düşüngü, toplumsal-tarihsel ve toplumsal-kimlik olmak üzere dört temel düzlemde incelenmekte ve her yapıtın çözümlemesi ara bireşimlerle sonlandırılmaktadır. Sonuç olarak, üçlemenin genel toplumeleştirel bağlamı çerçevesinde kapsamlı bir bireşim yapılmaktadır. Bu araştırma, toplumeleştiri yönteminin sömürgecilik sonrası yazın incelemelerindeki etkinliğini ortaya koymayı ve bu yöntemin Türkiye’deki akademik yazında daha yaygın kullanımına katkıda bulunmayı da hedeflemektedir.

This study aims to examine Leïla Slimani’s The Country of Others trilogy through a sociocritical approach and an interpretive perspective. The trilogy consists of the works The Country of Others (2020) (Fr. Les Pays des Autres), The Country of Others: Watch Us Dance (2022), and J’emporterai le feu (2025), which has not yet been translated into Turkish. Within the scope of the study, the trilogy is examined through a sociocritical approach. Using the conceptual tools offered by the sociocritical approach (sociogram, social relation scale, interdiscursivity, etc.), the multi-layered structure of the identity problematic addressed in the trilogy is revealed. Both the traces of social discourse in the production processes of the texts and their ideological and cultural dimensions in the reception stage are examined. The study consists of a theoretical section that examines the historical development, theoretical foundations, and basic concepts of sociocriticism, and an analysis section containing the analysis of the works. In the analysis section, the works are examined on four basic levels: contextual, social-ideological, social-historical, and social-identity, and the analysis of each work is concluded with interim syntheses. As a result, a comprehensive synthesis is made within the framework of the general sociocritical context of the trilogy. This research also aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of the sociocritical method in postcolonial literary studies and to contribute to the more widespread use of this method in academic literature in Turkey.
