In this paper, an active network simulating mutually coupled inductors employing four second-generation current controlled conveyors, five resistors, and only two grounded capacitors is presented. The primary, secondary, and mutual simulated inductances of the circuit are independent and can be electronically tuned. The proposed circuit represents a synthetic transformer and has a positive mutual inductance. As an application, the proposed transformer is used to construct a stagger-tuned filter. Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis (SPICE) simulation and experimental results are given to verify the theoretical analysis. © 2008 IEEE.en_US
