Abstract: In this study, morphological and physiological effects of the stress with the UV-C rays on the industrial Atlanta type beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L. Cv, Atlanta) were analyzed. The plants were raised in an automated green house with the ecological conditions. The plants were grown in the green house with UV-C lamb (250) for 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 days. After which their root lengths and seeding heights in their leaves and feather structure in their leaves were analyzed. It was observed that seedling height was reduced by the exposure of UV-C. At the end of the 14 days, chlorophyll a, b and total chlorophyll were also measured in the leaves. Total chlorophyll content significantly decreased in the UV-C exposed plants. Similarly, chlorophyll a and b were also significantly decreased in the leaves of plants exposed to UV-C. It was concluded that exposure to UV-C rays adversely effected the growth and photosynthesis in the bean plant. ©ISISnet Publishers.
