Abstract: PBT(Poly (buthylene terephtalate)) is an (semi) aromatic polyester. Due to their high elasticity property and ease of dyeing at lower temperatures, PBT fibers are started to be used popularly in the textile industry, especially in carpet manufacture and in many other textile applications and these fibres are being used globally with an increasing rate. In this study information on the production processes, properties, end-use applications and dyeing of poly(buthylene terephtalate) (PBT) fibres is given. With this aim, a wide range of survey on the previous studies including recent research and development on the subject was accomplished.
