Publisher: | European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers, EAGE | Abstract: | To determine 3D crustal structure and define the lineaments of chosen area located in the Western Anatolia using the Bouguer gravity data. The major structural features of the area are Gediz and Büyük Menderes Graben systems. Bouguer gravity anomalies values increase from east to west and were used to compute 3D topography of a density interface by Parker-Oldenburg algorithm. To determine the lineaments boundary analysis techniques such as the horizontal derivative, analytic signal and tilt derivative of the gravity field were used. As a results the depth of Manto-Lower crust boundary is 33 km on the east of the study area.On the southeast and southwest part of the areas, the depth of Moho is higher than surroundings because of the existence of Gediz and Büyük Menderes grabens. Maximum depth of the basements in the study area is about 12-13 km. Crust thickness decreases to the west depending upon the Moho ascendant. The maximum sediment thickness on B. Menderes basin is 7 km and on Gediz basin between Salihli-Alasehir, on Küçük Menderes basin sediment thickness is nearly 4-4,5 km. The sedimentary fills are thinned to the west We detected lineaments with N-S trend on the middle western part of study area. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/11499/8754 |
