Abstract: Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP) is commonly seen in childhood period and rare in adulthood period. HSP, recently renamed as immunglobulin (Ig) A vasculitis, is a systemic leuko-cytoclastic vasculitis characterized by IgA1 dominant immune deposits. Its etiology and pathogenesis remain unknown despite the fact that a variety of factors, mainly infectious agents and drugs have been suggested as triggers for the disease. HSP is known as a vasculitis specifically characterized by purpura in lower extremities, abdominal crampy pain and artralgia. We herein reported an adult case with HSP after warfarin usage in 51-years old man who has undergone mitral valve replacement two months ago. Copyright © 2017 by Türkiye Klinikleri.
