Abstract: In the global world, the creation of the supply chain has made it possible to use reliable, cheap, and fast transportation. It has also become more difficult to get into competition. In this environment, businesses are supposed to make economic and qualified production as well as provide a more effective service. They are also obliged to deliver the products whenever and wherever the clients demands and also meet their expectations in terms of quality. Thus, logistic activities have become a measurement of performance that directly influences the competitive capacities of businesses. For these reasons, logistics play a major role in the world economy and it is one of the most important tools of world trade. It is even more important for developing countries, which have a big potential for growth. This study includes 27 countries that have higher rates in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and are described as 'high income countries' according to the LPI rating. The study will measure the effect of the macroeconomic indicators of these countries on the LPI using regression analysis. According to the results of the analysis, countries with higher LPI scores have better economies. © Peter Lang GmbH, Internationaler Verlag der Wissenschaften, Frankfurt am Main 2016.
