Abstract: Purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a difference between the VO 2 max values in field and laboratory test. 96 students, studying at the Sports Academy of Sports Sciences and Technology of the Pamukkale University, have participated to the study on voluntary basis. While during the field test, the 12-minutes Cooper test has been utilized, as determinant in the laboratory test the Bruce Treadmill test has been used. The data obtained in result of the applied tests were calculated using formula advised for the test. For the statistical analysis of the data, the IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) 21.0 pack program has been used. In order to define the data distributions, an Identify in Statistics has been performed. For the comparison of two variables on the same group, the Paired Sample t-test has been used. Results have been submitted as average (X) and standard deviation (SS). The value P<0,05 has been found to be significant. Consequently, a statistically significant difference has been determined between the Field test (Cooper) and Laboratory test (Bruce). And this shows that the VO 2 max value in the applications of the laboratory environment is higher than the VO 2 max value in the applications of the field test. © 2018 by authors, all rights reserved.
