dc.description.abstractProblem Statement: Recently, Creative Drama has become one of the most common methods not only throughout the world but also in our country. Creative Drama is acting out a subject determined before hand by a making use of such techniques as spontaneity, role-play, etc. During the acting participants' experiences, their lives and general characteristics of the play are all essential. According to the aim of the play and the structure of the group, the process of creative drama is maintained.en_US
dc.description.abstractPurpose: The study's aim was determined by the belief of combing creative drama and reading comprehensive strategy in the learning and teaching process would provide important opportune. With this study, basically, the purpose was to determine the effect of creative drama technique in the process of reading comprehension education in scope of elementary school 4(th) grade Turkish lesson, and students' opinions about the technique.en_US
dc.description.abstractMethod: In the study, on the pre test and post test Reading Comprehension Test developed by the research, and in the interviews semi structured interview form was used.en_US
dc.description.abstractFindings and Results: According to the open ended Reading Comprehensive Achievement Test results control group (Teaching with Turkish Lesson Teaching Program) and experimental group (teaching with Creative Drama and strategy use) there were significant differences between experimental group having higher scores. Quantitative analyses demonstrated that students reported positive opinions on empathy, self explanation, and learn work.en_US
dc.description.abstractSuggestions: In order to determine the ways (conditions) creative drama technique would be more functional and efficient determination of the reading comprehension strategy there is further need for longitudinal and detailed research. It is necessary to design (develop) more efficient programs toward reading education by combing reading comprehension strategy education and creative drama.en_US
