6. sınıf öğrencilerinin niceliksel ve niteliksel orantısal akıl yürütme problemlerinin çözümündeki anlayışlarının incelenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, ilköğretim 6. sınıf öğrencilerinin niceliksel ve niteliksel orantısal akıl yürütme problemlerinde kullandıkları stratejilerin belirlenmesi ve bu stratejilerin öğrenciler tarafından nasıl kullanıldığının incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Verilerin toplanması, analiz edilmesi ve yorumlanmasında nitel araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 2011-2012 öğretim yılında Denizli ilindeki bir devlet okulunda öğrenim gören 20 altıncı sınıf öğrencisidir. Çalışmanın verileri, 5 niteliksel orantısal akıl yürütme problemi ve 5 niceliksel orantısal akıl yürütme problemi ile toplanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, niceliksel ve niteliksel orantısal akıl yürütme problemlerinde kullanılan 8 farklı orantısal akıl yürütme stratejisinin olduğu görülmüştür. Nitel orantısal akıl yürütme problemlerinde en sık kullanılan strateji ters orantı algoritması olurken, nicel orantısal akıl yürütme problemlerinde en sık kullanılan strateji birim oran stratejisi olmuştur. Diğer taraftan, öğrencilerin stratejileri kullanma biçimlerinin, niceliksel ve niteliksel orantısal akıl yürütme problemlerinin çözümünde bazı farklılıklar ve benzerlikler gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Genel olarak, nicel orantısal yürütme sorularında verilen sayılar üzerinden ilgili işlemleri yapma şeklinde kullanılan stratejiler, nitel orantısal akıl yürütme sorularında ifadeleri sayısallaştırma, sembolleştirme ya da çizim yapma şeklinde uygulanmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrenciler, matematik derslerinde formal olarak orantısal akıl yürütme becerilerini içeren konuları görmemişlerdir. Bu sebeple, çalışmanın sonuçları öğrencilerin informal akıl yürütmelerine dayalı olarak ortaya çıkmıştır.

The purpose of this study was to determine the strategy of 6th grade students on the proportional reasoning problems they used and to investigate how to use them by students. It was used the qualititive reasearch on collecting, analysing, interpretering of data. The study was conducted on 20 students 6th grade in a public school in 2011-2012 academic year. The data of this study was collected through 5 qualitative proportional reasoning problems and 5 quantitive proportional reasoning problems. As a result of this study, it was determined that 8 different proportional reasoning strategies while solving qualititive and quantitive reasoning problems. The results revealed that most commonly used strategy among these strategies was inverse proportion algorithm on the qualitative reasoning problems, on the other hand the unit rate strategy was used most commonly on quantitive reasoning problems. It was revealed that some differences and similarities on the students' way of using this strategy while solving qualititive and quantitive proportional reasoning problems. Generally, it was determined that the solving of quantitive proportional reasoning problems by doing operations about the numbers given in the question and also it was revealed that the solving of qualititive proportional reasoning problems by turning the words into the numbers, sembolising, drawing. Students who participated in the survey, did not know issues including proportional reasoning. Thus, students results were based on students' informal reasoning.
