Öğrenci kulüp etkinliklerinin öğretim programında yer alan temel becerileri geliştirmedeki etkililik düzeyine ilişkin öğrenci ve öğretmen görüşleri

Abstract

Bu araştırmada; öğrenci kulüplerinde yapılan etkinliklerin öğretim programlarında yer alan temel becerileri geliştirmedeki etkililik düzeyine ilişkin öğrenci ve öğretmen görüşlerini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Bununla birlikte öğrencilerin üye oldukları kulüpler ve gittikleri okul türleri ile öğretmenlerin danışmanı oldukları öğrenci kulübü, hizmet süreleri ve öğrenci kulüplerinin yönetmeliğe uygun yürütülme durumu değişkenlerinin görüşler üzerinde etkili olup olmadığı belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada, tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri; Kan (2006) tarafından geliştirilen ve araştırma problemine göre yeniden düzenlenen anket yardımıyla toplanmıştır (Cronbach Alpha= .98). Araştırmanın çalışma evrenini 2012-2013 eğitim-öğretim yılının ikinci yarıyılında Uşak ilindeki merkez ortaokullarda öğrenim gören 8. sınıf öğrencileri ve bu okullardaki öğrenci kulüplerinin danışman öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada oranlı küme örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Oranlı bir biçimde belirlenen 14 okuldan birer 8. sınıf şubesi ve belirlenen okullardaki tüm kulüp danışman öğretmenleri örnekleme alınarak 511 öğrenci ve 138 öğretmenle, araştırma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, SPSS 17.0 paket programı yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde; öncelikle maddelerin ortalama puanları ( ) dikkate alınmış ve Kolmogorav-Smirnov testi uygulanarak verilerin normal dağılım gösterme durumu belirlenmiştir. Analiz sonucunda anket maddelerinden elde edilen verilerin normal dağılıma sahip olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu nedenle elde edilen puanların araştırmada belirlenen değişkenlere göre farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığını belirlemek amacıyla "Mann Whitney U (MWU)" testi ve "Kruskal Wallis H (KWH)" testi kullanılmıştır. "Kruskal Wallis H (KWH)" testi sonucunda anlamlı farklılık bulunun durumlarda farkın kaynağı, grupların ikili kombinasyonları üzerinden MWU testi uygulanarak incelenmiştir. Anlamlılık düzeyi p< .05 olarak alınmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına dayalı olarak öğrenci kulüp etkinliklerinin; öğretim programında yer alan ortak temel becerileri geliştirilmedeki etkililik düzeyinin hem öğrenciler hem de öğretmenler tarafından "az etkili" olarak algılandığı; öğrenci ve öğretmen görüşlerine göre, kulüp etkinliklerinin temel becerileri geliştirmedeki etkililik düzeyinin, kulüplere göre farklılık göstermediği; öğrenci görüşlerine göre, devlet okulundaki öğrencilerin özel okuldaki öğrencilerden kulüp etkinliklerini temel becerileri geliştirmede daha etkili buldukları; öğretmen görüşlerine göre, kulüp etkinliklerinin temel becerileri geliştirmede, öğretmenlerin hizmet sürelerine göre farklılık olmadığı ve kulüp etkinliklerinin yönetmeliğe uygun yürütüldüğünü düşünen öğretmenlerin uygun yürütülmediğini düşünen öğretmenlerden kulüp etkinliklerini temel becerileri geliştirmede daha etkili buldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

In this research we aimed to identify the students and teachers' views about the effectiveness level of activities in student clubs in developing the basic skills in curriculum. At the same time, we tried to determine whether the variables of the membered clubs and the school types of the students and the advisor teachers of school clubs and their terms of services and their management within the regulations are effective on the views or not. In the research scanning model was used. Research data was obtained by preparing the inquary (Cronbach alpha= .98) developed by Kan (2006) in behalf of the research problem. Study population of the research is consisted of 8th grade students of the secondary schools in Uşak city center in the 2nd term of 2012-2013 educational year and the advisor teachers of the school clubs in these schools. Rate set sampling method was used in the research. The research was conducted by getting one of the 8th grade classes from rately identified 14 schools and all the club advisor teachers in the identified schools as samplings with 511 students and 138 teachers in total.The obtained data was analyzed with the help of SPSS 17.0 package program. In the analysis of the data avarage points for the items ( ) was considered firstly and the status for the normal distribution of data was identified by applying the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. In the analysis result it was found out that the data obtained from the inquiry items had no normal distribution. For that reason "Mann Whitney U (MWU)" test and "Kruskal Wallis H (KWH)" test were used in order to determine that whether the obtained points differentiated according to the variables in the research. In the of significant distinctions as a result of "Kruskal Wallis H (KWH)" test the source of distinction was analyzed by conducting MWU test through the binary combinations of the groups. Significance level was considered as p< .05. Based on the research findings it has been found out that;The effectiveness level of student club activities in developing the basic skills in curriculum is comprehended as " less effective" both by the student and the teachers. According to the students and teachers' views the effectiveness level of student club activities in developing the basic skills are not different according to the clubs. According to students' views, students in public school find the club activities more effective in developing basic skills than the students in private schools. According to teachers' views, club activities are not different in developing basic skills according to teachers' terms of service. According to teachers' views, the teachers thinking that club activities are conducted in accordance with the regulations find the the club activities more effective in developing basic skills than the teachers thinking that club activities are not conducted in accordance with the regulations.
