Önermesel ve inançsal gerekçelendirme ayrımı ve içselcilik

Abstract

Çağdaş epistemolojide gerekçelendirme kavramı önermesel ve inançsal gerekçelendirme olarak iki türe ayrılmaktadır. Gerekçelendirmenin bu iki türü arasındaki bağlantının nasıl kurulacağı tartışma konusudur. Destek ilişkisi olarak ifade edilen bu bağlantının gerekçelendirmenin doğasıyla ilgili ileri sürülen içselci ve dışsalcı düşüncelerin temellendirmelerinde önemli bir rolü bulunmaktadır. Gerekçelendirmenin doğası hakkında birbirine karşıt iki eğilim olan içselci ve dışsalcı teoriler önermesel ve inançsal gerekçelendirme arasındaki ilişki konusunda da birbirlerinden farklı iddialar ileri sürmektedirler. Bu çalışmanın amacı, önermesel ve inançsal gerekçelendirme arasındaki ayrımın içselcilik ve dışsalcılık tartışmasındaki yerini göstermek ve gerekçelendirmenin iki türü arasındaki bu farklılığın içselciliği destekleyen bir ayrım olduğunu savunmaktır.

In contemporary epistemology, the term justification is used in two senses, namely, propositional and doxastic justification. The issue of how to establish the relationship between these two types of justification has been a matter of dispute. This relationship, which is referred to as the basing relation, plays an important role in grounding of internalist and externalist claims about the nature of justification. Internalism and externalism -the two opposing approaches to the nature of justification- put forward different views as to the relationship between propositional and doxastic justification as well. The aim of this work is to specify the importance of the distinction between propositional and doxastic justification in the internalism-externalism debate and to argue that the difference between these two types of justification provides support for internalism.
